Mission
Centre for Interdisciplinary Simulation Research
Riverains Labs was founded to give Indian organisations reliable access to computational research. We design and run simulation programmes that sit between academic method and industrial delivery.
Much of modern discovery begins with models. We use mathematical formulation, HPC, and domain specialists to narrow questions before costly physical experiments are commissioned.
Clients engage us for defined studies or ongoing capacity. Work is scoped clearly, reviewed at agreed checkpoints, and handed over with documentation and transferable artefacts.
Modeled on Public Benefit Corporation, we build on open science and contribute back to community of researchers and developers. For the purposes of eventual commercialisation we carefully review the licenses of precursor softwares for compatibility with our goals.
We proudly base most of our workflows on in-house audited open-source scientific software. We also proudly contribute improvements upstream when we can, while commercially licensing selected algorithmic developments according to needs of our clients.

Mandate
What we build — and what we do not
Building
- 01A computational science organisation with durable infrastructure
- 02A simulation-led industrial research practice
- 03A shared scientific computing capacity for partners who need it
Not building
- 01A general management consultancy
- 02A software outsourcing shop
- 03A generic artificial-intelligence product company
Leadership
Scientific and technical officers
The company is led by its Chief Scientist and Technical Officer, responsible for research programmes and the systems that run them.

Chief Scientist · Research Officer
Swaroop Venkata Sai Kunapuli, PhD
Chief Scientist and Research Officer at Riverains Labs. Computational chemist focused on simulation for industry and complex systems, and on making computational R&D accessible across organisations of any scale.
Swaroop Venkata Sai Kunapuli, PhD is Chief Scientist and Research Officer of Riverains Labs Private Limited. Noticing the inertia against modernisation and consequent inefficient implementation of computational R&D projects in large institutions, and tight budgets limiting the scope of R&D in smaller newer organisations, he started this contract-research organisation to provide a cost-effective avenue for computational R&D projects for organisations of any quantum of market capitalisation.
Trained in computational chemistry with expertise in simulation of solvents and exotic systems, he is also interested in understanding and unravelling the characteristics of complex systems. Besides computational analysis of chemical, pharmaceutical and biological systems, Swaroop is currently working on projects associated with predictive maintenance of industrial systems, financial modelling and forecast, and simulation-driven policy formulation in the domains of healthcare, social services and (re)organisation of systems of agents.
He is passionate about deriving insights from messy correlated complex systems using the mathematical language and infrastructure for approximation and modelling developed in the last two centuries.

Technical Officer
Amara Aditya
Technical Officer at Riverains Labs. Leads technology vision, software architecture, AI initiatives, computational infrastructure, and digital product development.
Amara Aditya is a technology leader, software engineer, and entrepreneur passionate about building scalable systems that bridge scientific innovation and real-world impact. As Technical Officer of Riverains Labs, he leads the company's technology vision, software architecture, AI initiatives, computational infrastructure, and digital product development.
Before joining Riverains Labs, Aditya built his career in enterprise software and integration services, contributing to large-scale technology implementations for global organisations. His experience spans software development, system integration, performance engineering, product delivery, client consulting, and technical leadership. Working across multiple disciplines enabled him to develop a holistic understanding of how technology, business requirements, and user needs converge to create effective solutions.
A passionate advocate for technology education and innovation, Aditya has spent years mentoring students, conducting technical workshops, and supporting developer communities. His commitment to knowledge sharing has helped aspiring engineers gain practical skills and pursue successful careers in technology.
Aditya's interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, automation, cloud computing, and computational research. He believes that complex scientific and engineering challenges can be made more accessible through thoughtfully designed technology platforms and scalable digital infrastructure. At Riverains Labs, he focuses on building the technological foundation that enables advanced computational research, ensuring that cutting-edge scientific capabilities can be delivered efficiently, reliably, and at scale to organisations worldwide.
