Riverains Labs

Compute-intensive Simulations for research and development in industries, universities, and public institutions.

We undertake computational modeling R&D for institutional players looking for cost-effective Research-as-a-Service.

Thesis

Economies of scale. Interdisciplinarity. Cost-effectiveness. Innovation

Motivation behind Riverains Labs rests of fundamental facts of market dynamics.

01

Paradigm shift to Insilico-first approach

Models, high-performance computing, and specialist judgment reduce uncertainty before laboratory or plant work begins. Our role is to turn open-ended screening into focused calculation that teams can act on.

Simulation before experiment

02

Limitations to building from bottom-up

Advanced solvers, HPC operations, and interdisciplinary modelling skill are still scarce and expensive to retain in-house. We provide that capacity as a research partner for the duration of a project or on retainer.

Research-as-a-Service for newer organisations

03

Modular software architecture for fast prototyping

Inertia against modernisation in large organizations results in suboptimal utilisation of compute-resources from inefficient workflows. Our modular architecture of the compute-intensive software facilitates faster implementation of state-of-art algorithms.

Research-as-a-service for larger organisations

04

Iron is hot

India is entering a new age of compute with massive present and upcoming public and private compute infrastructure. We leverage the know-how developed in this ecosystem to deliver cost-effective simulation research to our clients, utilising these platforms.

Who engages us

Who we work with

Teams that need depth in simulation but cannot justify owning every solver, cluster, and specialist role themselves.

01Enterprise

Enterprise R&D

  • Screening campaigns that queue behind queue limits and delay decisions.
  • Physics solvers and specialist pipelines that are missing from internal stacks.
  • Legacy workflows that do not make good use of modern GPU capacity.

Focus: Chemicals, materials, pharmaceuticals

02Startups

Deep-tech startups

  • No standing budget for a dedicated high-performance computing facility.
  • Small scientific computing teams asked to cover several physics domains at once.
  • Investors and partners who expect credible modelling before wet-lab spend rises.

Focus: Biotech, quantum, aerospace

03Public sector

Public and academic partners

  • Climate, geospatial, and resilience questions that need shared modelling capacity.
  • Programmes that should not duplicate laboratory infrastructure across agencies.
  • Work that must move academic methods into applied, reviewable delivery.

Focus: Consortia, IITs, government

Research fields

Three research fields inside the company.

Named after the mathematical methods ubiquitous in respective fields, Ewald, Ising, and Monte Carlo are the three business vertical (Chemistry, Complex Systems, Financial Systems) in which Riverains Labs operates. Each has its own methods and client work; all three use the same high-performance computing layer.

How we work

From first inquiry to handover.

Every engagement follows the same sequence: assessment, a written proposal, iterative research with reviews, and a documented handover. We work under NDA when the material requires it.

Delivery steps

01

Inquiry and assessment

02

Proposal

03

Research and delivery

04

Handover and support

01

Inquiry and assessment

You share the problem, constraints, and data landscape. We agree scope, and work under NDA when the material requires it.

02

Proposal

We issue a statement of work covering methods, milestones, deliverables, and how success will be judged.

03

Research and delivery

Modelling proceeds in iterations with scheduled reviews so assumptions and interim results stay visible to your team.

04

Handover and support

You receive reports, code, and knowledge transfer. A retainer can follow if you want continued iteration.

Leadership

Founders

The company is led by its Chief Scientist and Technical Officer, responsible for research programmes and the systems that run them.

Swaroop Venkata Sai Kunapuli, PhD

Chief Scientist · Research Officer

Chief Scientist and Research Officer at Riverains Labs. Computational chemist focused on simulation for industry and complex systems, and on making computational R&D accessible across organisations of any scale.

Amara Aditya

Technical Officer

Technical Officer at Riverains Labs. Leads technology vision, software architecture, AI initiatives, computational infrastructure, and digital product development.

Next step

Talk to us about a modelling programme.

If your organisation needs simulation capacity, shared methods, or help standing up a research workflow, we can outline a scoped engagement or a longer retainer.
